Being an artist is a never ending journey. One never "arrives" and is suddenly an "artist". I hope that I can find a little something somewhere in the corner of my mind to share, and perhaps by writing about what I try to do might just be of some value to a fellow artist.

Claude Monet Pastel
I used this example of pastel painting for class on Wednesday. We often don't think of Monet as using pastels because we are so familiar with his oil paintings. This is fresh and looks almost as if it could have been created only yesterday. Love the paper showing through the sky and how loose everything is. It looks effortless and this is, of course, why Monet is so brilliant.
